Changi beach

Weekend August 8th/9th - It was a pleasant weekend - we didn't do a lot, just the usual, eating, sleeping, playing at our pool w Adric, and on Sunday, we brought Adric to Changi beach, it was his first time there, and he loved it! 

The first thing we saw after we parked our car was the ice cream man on his mobile motorcycle-driven ice cream station, and Adric had his first ever taste of ice cream!

No, I didn't eat ice cream..

The above shot was taken the Sunday after - changi beach was so fun that we went 2 weekends in a row! Ha

Anyway, other than the ice cream, we also had fun watching airplanes fly overhead.. The beach was near the landing runway so the planes were very near n loud..

Adric at 22 months

It's been a long time since my last post! Been busy with lots of stuff - my new job, project D, having fun with Adric, making time for family/friends.. It seems like after having a kid, time is nv enough! I've lots I want to blog about - our trips to Bali in Apr, Bkk in May, Penang in June (let's see if I ever get down to doing that haha..).. Adric is learning so many new things these days and his likes/dislikes changes every other day.. I wanna record it all down, but things are just happening too fast haha..

Anyway let me just pen down what Adric's been up to these days.. 

Climbing through tunnels - he loves going through all kinds of tunnels from the real ones on CTE to the makeshift ones made with mattresses and blankets..

His 2 favorite toys at the moment are a dinosaur head (which he calls 'saur') and a plastic bowl (which he calls 'this bowl') - totally unrelated, but you will see him carrying these 2 items almost everywhere he goes.. Haa

That's Adric eating his first Oreo cookie - given by Daddy who was trying to 'win his favor' after Adric showed preference for Mummy over Daddy.. Hee

Adric on his first cable car ride! He loved it, but too bad he missed the return journey from sentosa to mount Faber cos he was too tired n fell asleep.. We brought Adric to POLW but he didn't like it too much, which is surprising given that he loves playing w water.. See!

 He loved the water play at Gardens by the bay..

And the one at vivocity - he was making a face here just because he wanted me to join him..

Nowadays, one of the ways we like to keep him occupied is by giving him a basin of water and 2 cups - that's all it takes to give K and I a precious 5 mins of free time.. Hee

Adric's first hospital stay..

Adric is in hospital, for croup - it's a viral infection that causes inflammation of the upper airways.. Poor baby had fever of up to 40.4degC (omg!) and lots of coughing.. We brought him to A&E on Tues night, doctors gave him some steroids, and after 2 hours, his barking cough did not get better, so he had to be admitted..

The first night was bad, Adric was so uncomfortable that he could not sleep at all, latching helps a little but poor baby was still suffering.. Second night was bad too! Adric's fever shot up to over 40 degC and remained high for a long time..

After some medication, sponging and lots of TLC, things got abit better after the second night..

The hospital stay was not all bad, Adric had the company of his toys, IPad, 'bear bear', biscuits (all his favorite stuff..) as well as..

some fish watching at the pond..

some driving around..

and lots of TLC from daddy and mummy!!

I am not happy that Adric got sick, but to look on the bright side, I'm glad to have the chance to spend all this time with baby ( I spent the last 4 days n 4 nights at the hospital without going home!)..

Doctor says Adric can most prob be discharged tomorrow.. Though he is still coughing, his fever has stabilized.. 

Get well soon little darling! Daddy mummy loves you so so so much.. 

Adric's 2 favorite activities

Adric's 2 favorite activities at the moment are - 1) playing pick-a-boo.. He loves to hide behind the curtains and we would pretend to ask 'Where is Adric?' and then pretend to 'find' him.. He gets really excited and giggly..

Actually any corner of the house can be turned into peek-a-boo hideouts for Adric, sometimes he even makes us carry him into his cot to 'hide'.. Or if we are in the car or lift and there's nowhere to 'hide', Adric will use his hands to cover his eyes and wait for us to say 'peek-a-boo!'

2) Playing with 'aterr' (aka water) is another of Adric's favorite.. even more than peek-a-boo..

Pools and any kind of shooting water are his absolute favorite.. He could spend hours playing and still protest when leaving..

Bali trip 3 weeks ago.. It was a holiday made for Adric! Water water and water.. Adric had a blast!

Adric self entertaining with the bath tub, while daddy and mummy relax on the bed with a book and iPad..

2 days ago when I was putting Adric into his car seat for class, I asked him, ' where is Adric going?' and his immediate reply was 'aterr'.. My cute little baby, in his cute little world, is always hoping to go for water play!

Fun weekend for Adric - Hokey Pokey and Zoo..

Last weekend Adric had lots of fun! Mummy brought him to Hokey Pokey, his first time there! He loved the place! It was non stop playing and exploring and running about for a full 2 hours! Mummy is happy too, cos its so cool to just sit and relax and watch bb enjoy himself!

Adric's favorite was the ball pit! He spent lots of time throwing the balls out.. Haha

And climbing in and out of the pit..

Also a favorite is the mini castle.. Adric went in and out of the castle like 50 times.. Hee

On Sat morning, we woke up bright and early, and it was zoo time! We headed straight to the water play area, after a brief stop at the goat feeding area..

Adric was afraid of the goats at first..

But he got all excited after getting to feed them.. Hee

The water play was super fun.. The pics will speak for themselves!

2 hours of water play at the zoo was not enough for Adric! In the afternoon, he insisted on gg to the pool.. N we did! That is how much Adric likes playing with water! Haha.. 

Overall it was a fun and wet weekend!

Let me confirm I really finished all the blueberries..

Maybe there's some blueberry juice left!!

No more blueberries!! I'll eat the bowl instead..

Little book worm..

Baby's slowly developing a love of books.. which is really cool, cos that's one more way to keep baby entertained! Of cos it's not as foolproof as 'biscuit' or 'nang nang', but it still works in the following times..

While daddy and mummy are shopping..
