Adric & Nelly @ Juppy!

This is Daddy’s first ever post. A lot has happened since mummy’s last post in Dec 2015. I shall try to fill in the gaps. Well, Mummy has been really busy.

I found this picture on my phone. This was taken during our Cruise in October. Adric was wearing life jacket, with his concealed nervous little look. We were on an island hopping trip in Langkawi. Throughout the boat ride, we had his ears covered.

And our little buddy, wearing “leggings” on the cruise, and pushing his favorite car on the floor. So cute. I can recall him saying “Go Windjammer!” That’s the café there where we have our meals.

In November 2015, his annual concert. He’s an elephant!

3-Feb-2016: Welcome to the family Nelly! She has natural spiky hair. It just stands. So far, she’s been a little cupcake. Corinne has been the main caregiver. She fusses a little at times but which baby doesn’t. One thing she detests is people touching her face or ears!

Adric “taking care” of Nelly. Other times, he will be taking away her bootie or mitten, asking us to put her down somewhere. It’s quite funny actually.

So we went to Natalie and Regan’s birthday party in April-2016. Adric stood there, like his birthday. And before they cut the cake, his little hand stretched out for the candies on the cake. *Daddy sweats*

Adric is enjoying scooter now. Just that he likes to be pushed on it. And his favourite destination? Four Points hotel, and he goes there in home clothes. Well this picture wasn’t too bad. There were times he wanted “Red must go with Orange” combination. Corinne and I burst out laughing when we heard that. He is very serious about it.

Adric is into “layers of earth” and “mountains” now. His latest catch phrase is “Wicked”. He learned this from “Geography explorer - Mountains” on his favorite learning platform, Youtube. And I realized he’s quite a humorous person. See this exercise he did. 

And this morning, he made a tornado before going to school. Daddy told him to keep, which of course didn’t happen. And for once, since forever, he said “bye bye” to me before leaving for school.

Adric is also into drawing recently. He draws decent world maps and actually names the countries on the map rather accurately.  A picture says a thousand words.

Now, back to Nelly. After 4 months of super mum, mummy is going back to work. Daddy took 2 days off to make sure Nelly is trained to drink from the bottle. And we did it! This is how.

My birthday 2015..

It was a simple but beautiful birthday for me.. My last birthday as a family of 3.. Hee.. I woke up to a bouquet of beautiful flowers and breakfast bought by K..

We managed to have a slow leisurely bfast together, just the 2 of us..

Adric was really excited to be there.. The moment we were seated by the waiter, Adric immediately asked him, "Can I have some orange juice please!".. It was so cute, made all of us laugh, including the waiter..

How Adric takes care of Mummy...

Scenario 1 :
At Patong beach -
We recently went on a Royal Caribbean cruise on board the Mariner of the Seas, which Adric totally loved! Anyway, the cruise ship stopped by Phuket and we took the chance to go visit Patong beach..we rented a mat to share on the beach...I went for a walk on the beach, and when I came back, Adric excitedly waved for me to come over and patted the space beside him on the mat, "Mummy come, sit here", when he saw that I didnt have enough space, especially with my big pregnant belly, he immediately turned to Grandpa, who was sitting beside him, and said "Grandpa, you stand up!". He sure made sure that Mummy is well taken care of! haha

Scenario 2 :
During dinner -
We each had a drink and as usual Adric wanted a red straw for his drink (red is his favourite colour). Then he realized that Mummy didnt have a straw, so he said, "give mummy a straw", and i got an orange straw for myself, then he said " but you like green you know", so he made sure that Daddy change straw with mummy, so i get to use my favourite colour straw, like him!

Scenario 3 :
In the car -
Me: "The car is moving, you sit in your car seat, ok? You want to be safe, right?"
Adric obediently went onto his seat, and while I was buckling him in, he said "Mummy also clip (buckle in), wait Mummy dangerous how?". And he made sure I put on my safety belt...

Adric is 3!

Adric is 3! He is turning out to be such a sweetheart! Cheerful, cheeky and such a joy to be around! He is really sweet to mummy and loves to make fun of daddy..

There was this once when we were in a lift and Adric suddenly said, "I want to kiss mummy!" Then he pulled mummy down for a kiss on the lips! Such a romantic boy.. 

With daddy he is always cheeky - he loves to "tell" daddy, "grandpa is second!"  (favorite person after mummy), and see daddy "cry".. 

We took a short birthday trip with Adric to Batam Turi beach resort on this birthday..

The rest of the trip was spent relaxing in the resort, hanging out at the beach/pool and buffet dinner by the pool.. Always a fulfilling trip with Adric around!

Adric's current favorite game.. Being surrounded by all his soft toys! Everyday whenever K and I reach home, he would pull us into the bed room and say 'Daddy take all your soft toy!' (Your means my.. ).. N This is how he ends up..

Christmas and other fun stuff..

We brought Adric to Tabglin mall for 'snow'..

Adric loved it! And I made a mental note to take Adric to a snowy holiday soon! 

On Christmas Eve, we went to uncle Terrance's house for a Xmas party.. Adric had fun playing with Natalie - they were so cute together.. Here's a photo of Adric helping Natalie to clean her mouth..

On Xmas day, we drove to KL for a short getaway.. Because Adric has been saying he wants to go hotel! The drive was quite a test of Adric's patience, given his active nature.. But he was cooperative and as well behaved as he can be, so we reached KL safely and before dusk. Upon reaching the hotel car park, Adric suddenly sat up and gave a mischievous grin and said 'time for Adric to wake up!' Like he was all ready to tear KL down.. K and I burst out laughing.. This little boy sure knows how to make mummy and daddy laugh! Think he's got daddy's sense of humor!

We celebrated my birthday in KL and Adric sang a full birthday song for me!

Anyway, most of the other dec weekends were spent furniture shopping.. We brought Adric to IMM, n he had fun at the water park, amidst all the furniture shopping!

At grandma's and school

How time flies, it's the eve of the eve of cny already! The reno for our new house is not done yet (it's taking forever!), and we have already moved out of our old place.. It is now the home of our tenants.. So we will be staying at Grandma's for cny!

The moving was bittersweet.. We are excited to be moving to our new place but at the same time, sad to be moving out of LC, it was me and K's first home together, n Adric's first home.. Adric loves the place.. He would always say he wants to 'Go home to LC' and when we r home, he would say 'welcome to LC!' excitedly! I was abit worried at first that he would be very upset about the move, but we explained it to him a few times, and brought him around the house to say goodbye to every room - now he is cool I think, although he occasionally still says he wants to go home to LC, but I would remind him we have already said bye bye.. He seems to accept it now.. Phew..

Anyway here are some random photos of Adric at Grandma's..

Adric's favorites are Thomas and jigsaw puzzles now.. He knows number 1 to 10 trains by heart, n he can fit a 48 piece puzzle by himself! 

 Another of Adric's fav activity.. Chasing birds.. N he is quite good at it! There were a few times I thought he was really gonna catch one!

Adric's preschool organized a trip to Clementi fire station 2 weekends ago - since then our conversations with Adric has been a lot about emergency vehicles - fire engine, ambulance, and resuscitation.. Adric would pretend that one of his soft toys have fainted, and the ambulance will come and revive the soft toy!

 Today is CNY celebration at Adric's school, so he is dressed in traditional costume, and brought 2 oranges to school to exchange w his friends. They will also be having a steamboat lunch at school! This morning when we dropped Adric off at school, he was really happy and cheerful, one of his classmates came out to give him a hug, and he danced his way into class! It was a wonderful feeling to see Adric enjoying school and developing friendships! Looks like the days of him crying when we drop him off at school are over finally! I hope.. Hee
